In the region of Arcos de Valdevez, in the north of Portugal, the Afonso atelier make its first pieces in 1987. This name is steeped in history because it was thought as a tribute to the first king of Portugal, Afonso Henriques. In 2004, all the tailors go on strike and stopped the tailoring of shirts and blouses. It was Conceição Pinhão, the actual manager, who fought alongside them to save the atelier, jobs and this exceptional know-how. Since the Afonso atelier perpetuates a know-how in the field of made-to-measure shirts for more than 30 years now.
