De Bonne Facture introduces a special edition along the theme of Provence "Indiennes" prints, a type of print originating from Indian craftsmanship that was industrialized and imported in France starting from the XVIth century, becoming emblematic of the Provence region. This capsule collection is exclusively made for Mr Porter.
To pay a tribute to the artisanal origins of these patterns, we have collaborated with a family-owned atelier in India who has continued the ancestral craft of block printing, along with more modern digital printing techniques, and with an atelier near Paris owned by an embroiderer pursuing this craft for 20 years.
The designs on some of the pieces have been stamped by hand using an ancient Indian block printing technique with natural dye.
