Linen

EDITION 8

July 27th, 2017

Historically, linen is the oldest of the utilitarian plants cultivated by humans.
The egyptians named linen canvas "woven moonlight", while the latin denomination is "linium usitatissimum", underlining its duly utilitarian character.
Linen is known as an ecological fiber, as cultivating it doesn't consume a lot of energy nor necessitate chemical processes during its transformation into yarn. linen fibers are thermoregulative, antibacterial, and hypoallergenic. their resistance enables them to be employed for purely technical uses : postal bags, automotive industry, etc.
In fields, the linen flower blooms around june 15th. ephemereal, it generally appears only half a day, between 10 am and 1 pm.

Our shirts in italian linen and japanese cotton and linen blend are made in france by atelier confection du boischaut nord, shirting specialist since 1971, in ecueille, indre.
