French Linen Denim
May 14th, 2025
We are glad to introduce a special linen denim fabric, developed in collaboration with our partner “Tissages d'Autan”, located in the South West of France, in the Aveyron region, and expressed in our signature balloon trousers.
This fabric is woven in a twill weave, combining an undyed warp yarn with an indigo weft yarn, recreating the look of traditional denim while offering the unique qualities of linen. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, linen is a naturally eco-friendly material, requiring much less water and energy than traditional cotton. It is entirely made from European linen, grown in France and Belgium, then woven and finished in France. It holds the European Flax, Master of Linen, and GAÏA certifications, ensuring a responsible and local production chain.
Committed to sustainable practices, Tissages d'Autan prioritizes local fibers and mechanical, chemical-free processes. This family workshop, dating back to 1937 - formerly Tissages Pistre- is the heir to the expertise of weavers Xavier Pistre and Éric Carlier, key figures in the textile basin of Castres-Mazamet.
