Soft Brushed Wool
October 15th, 2026
A nod to the celebrated Shaggy Dog, our Shaggy Sheep Shetland jumper pays tribute to the origin of the material and to its authentic character. The original Shetland yarn is reworked in a refined, softer version, made from the fleece of the first shearing of New Zealand lambs, the softest wool a sheep can produce. Blended with more rustic wools that give it character, it yields a knit that combines sophistication with ruggedness.
This carded wool yarn comes from our partner spinning mill in Italy, a house founded in 1977 by a family with a history going back more than three hundred years. Carded wool keeps the short fibres that a combed yarn would have removed. They give it volume and a dry, faintly downy surface: this is the principle behind traditional Shetland yarns.
The pieces are knitted in Italy by Maglificio di Traversi, in Castel San Giovanni, then washed and milled, a finishing that closes up the stitches and softens the surface.
The wool is recyclable, biodegradable and sheds no microplastics. It is dyed without toxic agents and carries the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification.
